The Nuclear Nomads Expand Sofa with New Recliner Section Install

The Nuclear Nomads are a full time RV family living in south Florida. Andi and Joey value quality time with their kids, staying active, and going on new adventures, like seeing alligators in the everglades, and walking along the local beaches.

Recently, Andi demonstrated the process of installing a new sectional piece to expand their couch.

When the new section arrived, they brought in the entire box, which fit through their door. Andi unboxed the new reclining sofa section and got to work getting it in place. She was able to do this all by herself, as shown in the time lapse video she posted on her Instagram account, @nuclear.nomads.

First, she separated the two sides of the sectional sofa, removing the center console. Then she put the new base in place, unpackaged the back of the recliner piece, and locked that into the base. After locking the sections together because each section has hardware that holds the whole sofa together, the install was complete.

Their whole family can now fit on this sofa. Even with two kids and a dog, the furniture has held up really well. The original RecPro furniture pieces are about 2 years old.

They got their new section in the Brisa line from the Charles Collection in the color Onyx. This looks great with their warm grey flooring and dark interior trim. Andi and Joey are great to communicate with, and a delight in the RV community.
