RecPro is one of the premier providers of water/gray water/ tanks manufactured by EPI (Elkhart Plastics Inc.) in the aftermarket industry. Elkhart Plastics Inc. is one of the leading manufacturers of tanks in the world. Their strict manufacturing standards (such as pressure testing every single tank they manufacture) are why OEMs, private businesses, and owners alike prefer an EPI tank over any other. These tanks, and all tanks we offer, are NSF certified and BPA free.
BPA FREE – WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
BPA (bisphenol A) is a chemical that has been used since the 1960’s (and is still being used) by a wide variety of manufacturers to produce certain plastics and resins. Unfortunately, BPA is present in many polycarbonate plastics and resins which are primarily used in the production of containers slated for the food industry. Most commonly you would find them in the body of one of the most prevalent containers on the market: water bottles.
While used in the manufacture of other consumer goods, BPA is also present in the epoxy resins that are used to coat the inside walls of metal-based products such as food cans (vegetable, juice, and fruit), bottle tops (water, soda, and liquor), and even inside of water supply lines! The presence of BPA in these products is a danger because there is a small percentage that can leech into the food and liquid products inside of these containers in certain conditions.
BPA is a concern because of the possible negative health effects from exposure to this chemical. It can adversely affect the brain, behavior patterns, (possible) blood pressure, and has shown that it can impact the prostate gland of fetuses, infants, toddlers, and children.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recommends avoiding exposure to BPA when possible. The easiest way to do this is by avoiding contact with BPA containing products. Especially ones that are attached to a major water source for you, your family, and your friends. By purchasing a BPA free tank from RecPro, you can make sure that your family and friends are safe from this unstable chemical compound.
ELKHART PLASTICS INC.
With a client-forward philosophy, as well as a diverse product base that places it in the pantheon of power companies in the plastic commodity and molding industry, Elkhart Plastics Inc. is an unrivaled manufacturer of plastic-based materials. With internationally recognized brands such as Gatorade, Kong, and TUFF in their merchandise repertoire, EPI has stamped a resonating footprint on the plastics industry. Elkhart Plastics Inc. specializes in the three main tank types in the industry:
Fresh Water
Black Water (holding tanks)
Gray Water
RecPro works closely with EPI (and other producers) to provide our customers with the widest selection of these tank varieties.
FRESH WATER TANK
Our fresh water tanks come in either stock sizes, or highly customizable options that can be tailored to a customers’ exact specifications. You can enter a nine-digit number (available on the tank labels or from the manufacturer) that will provide an exact build already in existence, or you can submit your required tank and fittings and RecPro will help provide what you need. Our inlets, outlets, and fill ports use spin welding to attach to the tank body. Spin welding is an industry standard process that makes the port and the tank into one piece once complete. With that process, and the stringent testing standards applied, you know your tank won’t leak or break down.
GRAY WATER
Part of being human and using anything consumable is that you will create waste. Having waste byproduct is a byproduct of living. Especially RV living. Gray water is a reality that exists for RV, camper, and food truck owners. Whether from washing dishes, hands, showering, or any other water-based application, that dirty water has to go somewhere. Why not put it in a tank that you know will provide continual solid performance for years to come? With RecPro, you can have just that. Remember (especially for food trucks and concession stands) that your gray water tank has to be larger than your fresh water tank. Soap and other waste material increase the overall volume of water.
BLACK WATER (HOLDING TANKS)
The toughest to talk about, but really necessary, is the black water tank (holding tank.) This tank holds some especially icky product, so you need it to be especially strong. You need a tank that has been through a strict process of production and testing. You need a tank you can install that will not fail. You’ll have that with tanks you buy through RecPro. Make sure your holding tank will be much a-doo about nothing. Custom builds with sensors and varying port locations available.
WHAT IS ROTOMOLDING
Rotomolding is the cornerstone process involved in many of EPI’s manufacturing models. Rotomolding is a many-tiered procedure that takes great attention to detail and process technique. This manufacturing technology was first utilized in the 1950s and has been tweaked over the decades until it was finally perfected and enhanced to allow for larger molds and many different types of materials for various specific applications. EPI uses the most advanced rotation molding equipment in the industry. By employing an independent arm carousel, they can produce custom plastic parts in an endless variety of shapes and thickness.
Our tanks come in many sizes, shapes, and builds. You can get the tank you need and be assured that it is one of the best in the industry. Just visit our product pages or call our friendly Customer Care Department and order yours, today!
