History
Like many now-well-known brands, Dirt Devil began in a humble garage. In 1905, Philip A. Geier created one of the world's first vacuum cleaner companies (P.A. Geier Company) in Cleveland, Ohio. During World War II, he joined with manufacturing companies for military production before merging with Royal Appliance Manufacturing. In 1955, they built the first household vacuum cleaner with the patented Cyclone system. Since then, they have sold over 25 million. Later, in 1984, they released the Dirt Devil Hand Vac. It was a huge hit all over the nation and from then on, they’ve been making history with their inventive, intuitive, and effective cleaning systems and appliances. Today, Dirt Devil is part of TTI Floor Care North America (which was what Royal was renamed) and they manufacture a wide range of floor care products from portable vacuum cleaners, to large models, to systems for recreational vehicles and boats. From its humble beginnings, Dirt Devil is now one of the most popular household vacuums in North America. They have always prided themselves on helping customers achieve the easiest, best clean possible, and you can see that through their slogans. Between 1995 and 2005, it was "Nothing escapes the power of a Dirt Devil." Between 2005 and 2014, it was "Fight Dirty." And from 2013 to the present day, the slogan has been "Let's Go."
