The seed that would one day sprout and grow into the world-wide recognized Rockford Fosgate® was first planted by one man: Jim Fosgate. Jim Fosgate began his career in audio technology perfection in 1973 in the garage of his humble home in Arizona, USA. Jim would eventually develop the patented “Punch EQ” along with his first product, the PR-7000 amplifier. Jim Fosgate would later go on to win an Emmy® Award for his advancements and innovations in the development of surround sound technology, a legacy that is carried on by Rockford Fosgate today.
In 1980, Jim would hand things over to Camelback Investors, who would later go on to form the Rockford Corporation and create the iconic Rockford Fosgate® brand, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona.
By 2011, Rockford Fosgate® would develop its first flagship product, the Punch PBR300X4 300-Watt Multi-Channel Amplifier, which would feature its patented Boosted Rail Technology. This multi-channel amplifier would go on to become the cornerstone product for their complete line of Rockford Fosgate compact amplifiers, andremains so today.
Rockford Fosgate® would go on to develop many more cutting edge products, such as the T5652-S 2-way component speaker system featuring a Liquid Crystal Polymer in 2012, the Rosetta Stone for modern complex audio systems in 2013, the T1 Slim Fit Woofer in 2015, the T3 19-inch subwoofer in 2016, and the 1,000 Watt compact chassis amplifier with a Class A/D design and proprietary Constant Power Circuitry in 2017.
