It helps prevent debris from getting into your water system while also providing the raw water needed for various operations on your boat, such as keeping your livewell pressurized. This marine sea chest is equipped with two externally mounted Pentair Shurflo 1500 bilge pumps. These are submersible bilge pumps that can provide a flow rate of up to 1500 gallons per hour. These Shurflo livewell bilge pumps are equipped with snap-on strainers that make them a breeze to clean and maintain, with a tough nylon housing that keeps them protected from corrosion. These pumps are built with long-lasting motors designed with a unique water cooling system that extends their life even further. The Shurflo pumps are externally mounted on the two front outlet ports and feature 1 ⅛” outlet barbs and a 5’ tinned wire assembly for easy connection.

T-316L stainless steel is used to create the pump box of this marine sea chest, giving it heavy-duty durability. The natural corrosion and rust resistance of the T-316L stainless steel is strengthened as the steel is electropolished and passivated. To give this pump box even more protection and ensure its long-lasting use, it is also given a tough black powder coating.

¾” thick acrylic plastic is used to create the lid of the sea chest. The lid is attached to the pump box by a series of tapped holes, bolts, and washers. The lid is also equipped with a neoprene gasket, which compresses as the bolts are tightened to create a water-tight seal. This sea chest features one ¾” vent outlet, two 1 ⅛” barb outlets, one 1 ¾” inlet, and one 1” saltwater washdown outlet.
