It’s a good idea to clean and wax your RV exterior (as well as the exterior of your motorcycle, car, etc). Keeping it clean gives you a sense of pride that not only do you have an amazing, clean ride, but you were the one who put in the hard work to get it that way. This lets others know that you mean business. You didn’t buy that RV just to store it in your garage. You bought it to have adventures, vacations, and stories to tell. And with that sparkle, everyone knows that you really care about these adventures. With the care that you put into your RV exterior, it will keep it looking nicer for longer, preventing stains and some aesthetic damages as well. But this all can be a big job without the right products. With effective and efficient products, you can get the job done without wasting time and while seeing great results. Cleaning, waxing, and taking care of your RV exterior can be a big job. That’s why we’ve included a few tips to help you get started!
Tip 1) Start the process with a good hose down. By giving your RV or other vehicles a good initial rinse, you can reduce the overall workload as well as giving yourself a better view of what you’ll be needing to clean.
Tip 2) Work from the top down. By starting at the top, you won’t have to worry about whether you have dirt or other soils traveling down onto the bottom of the rig. If you start on the bottom, you could end up having to re-do some of these places, which is frustrating.
Tip 3) For the RV awning, remove it from the legs. This step isn’t for everyone, but if you’re having trouble cleaning your RV awning, you can remove the legs to allow the awning to fall straight down, which makes cleaning it easier. You won’t have to worry about stressing out the fabric or putting holes in it.
Tip 4) Don’t stress out too much if you see those black streaks on the side of your rig. With the right cleaner, you can take those right off. And if the stain is a stubborn one, you can use a soft-bristled brush to work on it. Is the stain high up and you don’t have a ladder? Many brushes have a threaded hole on the end of the handle so that you can attach a broom or mop handle to it in order to reach those spots.
Tip 5) While you’re cleaning, look around for places that need maintenance or repair. With a clean vehicle, it can be easier to spot these places. Because of this, cleaning the vehicle is a good way to check whether the vehicle is ready for the road.
Tip 6) After you’re done cleaning, you can check the area where the RV usually sits to check whether there are any spots that need to be cleaned. These can be oil stains or stains from those black streaks or other areas that need to be cleaned.
