4 Fun Fall RV Activities for Your Whole Family

We’ve been covering a lot of autumn-related subjects lately, and we don’t plan to stop until the first snowflake hits the ground. So, you shouldn’t stop taking advantage of this beautiful season either!

Autumn is the perfect time to pack up the family for an old-fashioned RV road trip. But, if you’re wondering what you can do in this cooler season with your family on board, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered with some fun and festive fall activities everyone will enjoy.

1. Go Camping

Obviously, camping is at the top of our list. Fall is one of the best times for a family camping trip. You won’t hear anyone complaining about being too hot, or running away from bees and mosquitos.

Plus, a cooler campsite is the perfect opportunity to build a roaring fire, tell ghost stories, and enjoy some gooey s’mores. Make sure you prepare yourself for the weather and different elements. When you do, you’ll be able to create a camping trip to remember.

2. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

One of the best things about hitting the road in an RV is it gives you an incredible opportunity to take advantage of local attractions all over the country! This time of year, there’s nothing better than heading to a pumpkin patch with your family. So, why not make several pumpkin patch stops if you’re on a longer road trip? It doesn’t mean you have to load up on 20 pumpkins everywhere you go. Most patches have tons of family activities. This usually includes things like hay rides, corn mazes, games, petting zoos, and snacks. There are also plenty of picture opportunities!

3. Apple Picking

Find a U-Pick apple orchard along your driving route for a relaxing and “fruitful” way to spend an afternoon. Many apple-picking farms also double as cider mills with lots of activities. You can enjoy freshly-pressed cider, and maybe even a fresh, hot donut! Because apple picking and cider mills are becoming such popular attractions, each one will have their own unique features and things to do. Why not make it a game to visit as many as possible on your trip? Plus, you’ll enjoy the perk of picking your own apples to have plenty of snacks with you on your long drive.

4. Halloween at the Campground

One of the most unique things you can do in your RV in the fall is to find a campground with Halloween activities. Many campgrounds across the country have trick-or-treating events, ghost story telling, etc. Some offer them several times throughout the fall season, while others focus strictly on Halloween weekend to make the event feel more “special.” Your kids can dress up in their costumes and enjoy the festivities! It’s a great way to make camping feel fresh and exciting again.

“Fall” in Love with Autumn RVing

We hope these ideas have inspired you to hit the road with your family this fall. Whether you’re camping at your favorite site or you don’t have a specific destination in mind, you’ll find plenty of autumn activities to enjoy while you’re RVing.
