How to Make Your RV Campground Party Lit!

The Ultimate RV Park/Campground Halloween Party

Halloween is fast approaching, and if we haven’t already convinced you that autumn camping is where it’s at, we hope this post encourages you to hit your favorite campground for the spooky holiday!

Halloween is one of the best holidays to spend in an RV park, because you can create an incredible DIY event for your family and friends. If you can find a campground that already has a special event going for the holiday, that’s a bonus!

But, even if you’re camping in your backyard, you can still put together a “spooktacular” party that everyone will love!

Start with the Right Playlist

Nothing sets the mood for a “killer” party like the ultimate Halloween playlist. Feel free to use your favorite spooky songs like “Monster Mash” or the Addams Family theme song (and good luck getting that out of your head!).

Or, use a curated playlist that’s already been put together. If you have Spotify, they’ve developed some great ones for the holiday! The right music will get everyone excited for all of the haunted festivities ahead.

Pack the Right Snacks

Once you’ve got your tunes in order, don’t be afraid to go all out with the scary snacks. Hot apple cider, pigs in a blanket, a s’mores bar, or anything cooked around the campfire will always be a hit.

You can really get into the Halloween theme by preparing some festive foods ahead of time. Want a quick and easy dinner for the kids? Wrap hot dogs in strips of crescent roll dough so they look like a mummy, then bake until the dough is golden brown. Add ketchup and mustard eyes for a frighteningly-good treat.

Make the Most of Your Campfire

It’s not Halloween without some spooky stories shared around the campfire. Be sure to brush up on some of your favorite terrible tales and share them in a circle throughout the night. If you have little ones, you can make your scary stories kid-friendly.

You can also take advantage of the warmth and light from the fire with some Halloween camping games. An easy way to keep the kids busy (and use a cheap roll of toilet paper) is to try a “mummy wrap” race:

Split the kids up into teams of two. One person will be the “wrapper” and the other will be the “mummy.” When the race starts, the wrapper will run around the mummy with a roll of toilet paper, wrapping them up from head to toe. The first team to go through their entire roll of toilet paper wins! You’re bound to get some Instagram-worthy shots out of this game.

As you can see, it doesn’t take much to create a memorable Halloween experience at your favorite campground, or even in your own backyard! You can make the event as casual or as formal as you’d like. If you made it through this article without rolling your eyes at all of the terrible Halloween puns, we’re pretty sure you can do just about anything.

Happy Halloween!
