Fix a Leaking RV Window with New Rubber Window Seal

A leaky window can really ruin a trip, not to mention the interior of your RV if the issue is not attended to. A failing seal is going to be the most likely culprit of a leaking window. It may seem like a hard fix, but replacing the window seal is a cinch and will have your window good as new and keep all the elements outside where they belong.

This window seal is a ribbed design that helps wick away water and to flex with a moving substrate. It’s .187” high and .375” wide. It has enough flex to easily bend around the corners of windows. It's made of an EPDM sponge rubber compound, making it tough and resilient to the elements and compression. So it will last long and keep the inside of your RV dry. It comes backed with standard pressure-sensitive adhesive for a secure hold. It is UL50 certified and proudly made in America.

Installing this rubber seal is easy. Simply clean the area with a 50/50 solution of alcohol and water. If replacing an old seal, be sure to clean off any sticky residue from the previous seal. Once clean and dry, you’re ready to install. Be sure to avoid stretching the seal as this can compromise the integrity of the final seal. Be sure to keep the adhesive strip clear of debris as well as this can affect how well the seal adheres to the surface. It’s best to peel adhesive liner off as you apply the adhesive to keep it as clean as possible. When applying the seal to the window, don’t pull or stretch around the radius. For a secure seal, you can apply a drop of instant adhesive to the end joints to create a solid, bonded seal.
