What is RV-specific furniture?
RV furniture is specially designed to fit the smaller spaces inside an RV. It’s lighter, more compact, and often has built-in storage or convertible features to maximize space.
Can I use regular household furniture in my RV?
Yes, but it’s not ideal. Household furniture is heavier, not built to handle road vibration, and usually too bulky for RV layouts. Many people choose RV furniture to improve safety, fit, and durability.
How do I measure my RV for furniture?
Measure:
Width, height, and depth of the space
Doorways and entry points (to ensure the furniture will fit through the door)
Any slide-out clearances
Take all measurements twice, as doing so will help avoid installation issues due to poor fitment.
How do I secure RV furniture so it doesn’t move while driving?
Depending on the supplier, the RV furniture may come with bolting brackets or mounting points. If replacing your RV furniture, you may need:
L-brackets
Anchors
RV-safe screws
Securing RV furniture can help prevent it from moving around during traveling and causing damage or injury. However, not all RV furniture needs to be secured. RecPro furniture does not need to be secured.

A Jackknife sofa is faster and simpler to use, but often has a thinner sleeping surface. A Tri-fold sofa is typically more cushioned, similar to a traditional pullout bed, making them more comfortable for regular sleeping.
Can I replace only part of my RV furniture (like just the cushions)?
Check the manufacturer’s care instructions for specialty materials.
Does RV furniture come apart for installation?
