Description
If you are a cold-weather camper, you know how important weather-proofing your RV and your RV systems is. If you've always wanted to camp in the colder months but don't know how, we're here to help. Whether you're a snow veteran or are still trying to figure it out, we at RecPro offer you this Single Lighted Heating Pad Toggle Switch for those cold winter months.
One of the important features of your RV that you need to protect when camping in the cold is your plumbing system. Without proper insulation and heating tools, fluid could freeze in your pipes, causing them to become damaged and causing your water to become stuck. If you want your water to be able to flow properly to and from your tanks and if you want your pipes to live through the cold season, you need pipe heater pads. Even further than that, though, you need a way to control these pads. This single toggle switch is built for that purpose. With the freedom to camp in any weather comes the freedom to have as many adventures as possible. Used often by cold weather campers, the pads last through temperatures as low as -11°F, depending on the design of your RV and how the pads were installed, and with the toggle pads, you are able to turn these pipe-saving devices on and off.
Measuring 1 3/4" long by 2 1/2" high, this 13.5V DV toggle switch control panel is made in America and works with the heating pads sold here on RecPro.com. With the lighted LED indicator light, you can check to see if the heater pads are turned on even in the dead of night. When you finish your movie only to find out that the temperature dropped while the movie was running, you don't need to turn on the lights to make sure that your pipes will be okay come morning. Simply check to see whether the light is on. While tank heater pads have a built-in sensor that makes sure that they turn on or off when the weather switches, elbow heater pads do not. Because of this, it is up to you to turn it on and off. With the easily seen toggle switch, this is something that you can check up on even in the dark.
Because the toggle switch is set for 20 amps, the load on the circuit cannot exceed this amount. When you wire up the heater pads to the toggle switch, make sure that you take this into consideration. If the amps exceed this amount, add another toggle switch to the circuit. If your circuit is 20 amps, a 12-gauge stranded wire must be used to handle the load well.
