Included in the starter kit are two solar cables, one alternator cable, one DC output cable, one AC output cable, and one AC input cable. But, the main components of the EcoFlow Starter Power Kit are the included 5kWh EcoFlow Expansion Battery, the PowerLink data module, the EcoFlow 30A/50A Distribution Panel, the PowerInsight touchscreen monitor, and the Gen 2 5kVA EcoFlow Power Hub.
5kWh Expansion Battery
This kit includes one EcoFlow 5kWh Expansion Batteries, which, as you might have guessed, gives you a power storage capacity of up to 5kWh. This is an LFP battery, also known as LiFePO4 or Lithium Iron Phosphate, and is connected directly to one of the three battery ports on the Power Hub. The EcoFlow 5kWh battery is expandable, meaning you can purchase additional 5kWh batteries to increase your power storage capacity. A single EcoFlow 5kWh Expansion Battery offers a nominal capacity of 5120Wh (100Ah) and a nominal voltage of 51.2V with a large 3500 cycle life.
The EcoFlow 5kWh Expansion Battery is also stackable, meaning you can connect one battery to another to further increase your storage capacity even if all three battery ports on the Power Hub are taken. Keep in mind, however, that the Power Hub can handle a maximum of 9 EcoFlow 5kWh batteries (three stacked batteries on each battery port), but that would still give you an astounding 45kWh total power storage capacity.
There are quite a few features on the EcoFlow 5kWh Expansion Battery that help protect your power system as well as optimize the performance of the battery and enhance its lifespan. For example, the battery features an integrated Advanced Battery Management system, which will help protect against over-discharge, over-charge, overload, overcurrent, and short circuits. The battery is also designed with an auto-heating function, which keeps the battery warm even in freezing temperatures to promote optimal charge and discharge, making it great for winter camping.
Additionally, the battery has a built-in on/off button and LCD digital display, allowing you to turn the battery on or off directly if needed. The LCD digital display offers indicators for low and high temperatures, heating status, charging status, and battery level.
Gen 2 EcoFlow Power Hub
Gen 2 EcoFlow Power Hub is the center of the EcoFlow Starter Power Kit, where all the various modules connect to. This high performance power hub functions as the primary power intake and distribution point of the system, offering a steady high-powered output of up to 5kVA to reliably handle heavy electrical loads and keep your essential appliances running. That high-powered output is even enough to run two 13500 BTU rooftop AC units simultaneously. The power hub is not only powerful but it is remarkably quiet as well, with noise levels as low as 48dB at 60% inverter load.
The Gen 2 EcoFlow 5kVA Power Hub gives you four ways to charge the battery and keep your systems powered. These four power intake methods include Solar Power, Shore Power, Generator Power, and Vehicle Alternator. Each charging method can charge a single 5kWh battery in under two hours, or you can use all four charging methods simultaneously to achieve a charge of up to 11kWh in just one hour.
There are many ports on the power hub that allow you to connect various modules and peripherals to the system. For power intake there are three PV In / ALT In ports for connecting solar panels or a smart alternator in addition to three battery ports for connecting batteries or a smart generator and a main AC input port for connecting to shore power. For power output, there is a 12V/24V DC main output port, a 20A Max AC output port, and a main AC output port.
The EcoFlow 5kVA Power Hub is also designed to help protect your appliances and ensure you’re supplied with reliable power even if the shore power you’re connected to is weak or unstable. It is able to do this thanks to its integrated X-Fusion technology, which runs the inverter parallel with the shore power source to make up for the power shortage and provide consistent 5kVA power if it detects that the power coming from the shore power source is insufficient.
EcoFlow PowerInsight
This starter power kit also comes with a 10” EcoFlow PowerInsight monitor, featuring a ten-point multi-touch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280x800 for visuals that are sharp and clear. The PowerInsight monitor is the all-in-one information and control dashboard for the power system and gives you a variety of ways to customize your power settings, such as setting battery storage and charging limits, setting device run times, or even turning individual AC or DC circuits on or off.

The level of control the PowerInsight monitor can give you is quite extensive, as it is compatible with a wide array of EcoFlow and third-party devices and appliances. The monitor is compatible with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, allowing it to connect and communicate with Matter-supported smart devices such as smart thermostats, smart lights, smart plugs, and more. This would allow you to do things such as adjust thermostat settings, control lights, or even turn individual appliances on or off straight from the monitor. However, smart plugs and other such devices are not included with this kit and must be purchased separately.
In addition to extensive control, the PowerInsight monitor allows you to view a ton of information about your power system in real time or by day, month, or year. The homepage can show you useful general information such as your battery level, your total power usage, and the temperature and humidity thanks to the built-in sensor. The monitor also features a variety of different widgets that allow you to view more detailed information, such as your solar generation, a more detailed breakdown of your energy intake and output, or your batteries remaining charge time.
EcoFlow PowerLink
The EcoFlow PowerLink module included in this kit sits between the power hub and the PowerInsight monitor. The PowerLink module feeds data from the power hub and its attachments to the PowerInsight monitor, while also feeding additional data to the monitor from sensors, relays, and sources not connected to the power hub using communication protocols like RV-C and NMEA2000. This allows the monitor to view data from sources such as water tanks and temperature sensors. This allows you to view additional real-time data such as voltage type, resistance type, and 4-wire RTD temperature sensors, as well as allowing you to take advantage of features such as the auto generator startup.
EcoFlow Distribution Panel
Finally, there is the EcoFlow 30A/50A Distribution Panel. The distribution panel directs power from the power hub through the circuits and to the appliances connected to those circuits. The distribution panel makes power management and distribution easy, able to simultaneously accommodate 12v DC power and 30 amp or 50 amp AC power, and providing an output of up to 240V when connected to a 50A power source. The distribution panel is also easy to install, thanks to features such as color-coded AC and DC input connections and AC/DC circuit wire snaps.
The EcoFlow 30A/50A Distribution Panel offers 12 AC branch circuits, which can be wired to run single-phase 120V AC and split-phase 240V AC loads simultaneously, or wired to run single-phase 120V AC loads only. Additionally, the distribution panel also offers 16 controllable DC circuits, which are compatible with both 12V and 24V DC outputs. The distribution panel has an EF BUS power, which can be used to connect the panel to the power hub. Doing so allows you to remotely control the 16 DC circuits as well as the main AC and DC outputs through the PowerInsight monitor or through the EcoFlow app.
