RecPro offers a great selection of durable and reliable marine plywood panels constructed from super-strong fir wood veneers and a robust water-resistant marine glue. The marine plywood offered here at RecPro is perfect for your DIY boat, deck, and pontoon remodeling projects!
What Is Marine-Grade Plywood?
Marine plywood is distinctly different from normal plywood. Marine plywood is higher quality, more durable, and significantly more water resistant, making it ideal for use in marine environments or other applications where high moisture is expected.
Each ply of a marine-grade plywood panel is bonded together using a water-resistant adhesive, such as phenolic or melamine resins, which is what gives the plywood panel its high resistance to water. Marine plywood is also often built with higher-quality wood veneers than standard plywood. These veneers are usually made from hardwoods such as Douglas Fir or Meranti that are free of voids, gaps, and other flaws.

Marine Lights
Lights, camera, action! Just like in the movies, that’s how great boating vacations start: with lights and a camera. Keeping yourself, your family, your boat, and other boats safe on the water, navigation lights are of the utmost importance when boating. Whether it be for the port side or starboard side light upfront, the stern light up top, or the transom light under the back, we’ve got just the solution for your lighting needs.
Have you ever seen people boating at night without their lights on? Probably not, and that’s the problem. Without proper lighting, boats can get into accidents with other boats, land, or other objects in the water, and an accident like that can really put a dent in your vacation plans.
You must always be on the lookout for other vessel lights when boating at night, with the lights required from sunset to sunrise. Depending on your craft, there are certain types of lights required. Sidelights (or combination lights) are the red and green lights visible to other boats when approaching from the side or the front [red light for the port side (left) and green light for the starboard (right)]. The stern light is the light attached to the back and only seen from behind the vessel. A masthead light is required on all motorboats and is seen from the front and both sides, being attached to the top of the boat. Only sailboats do not have these lights. An all-around white light is used for smaller vessels less than 39.4 feet in length, and it serves as a combination of the masthead and stern light.
When you only see a white light, it means you are approaching a boat from behind. If you see a green light and a white light, it means you are approaching a boat from its right side. If you see a red light and a white light, it means you are approaching a boat from its left side. If you see only a red or green light, it means you are approaching a sailboat. Non-motorized vessels do not have these specific lights, and so keeping your eye out for all boats, whether you see these lights or not, is important for water safety.
